Aled Brew has completed a two year deal to join Biarritz at the end of this season. After an outstanding career at the Dragons which included 16 tries last season and a Wales call up, Biarritz have moved quickly to secure his services.
Aled said “I’m looking forward to moving abroad but I also leave the Dragons with a heavy heart. I had opportunities to join other teams in Wales and England but had no interest in playing for any other team in the UK. The Dragons have given me the opportunity to play regional rugby, they have helped me achieve my ambition of playing international rugby and made me the player that I am today.”
Aled was selected as part of Wales’ World Cup squad after a very successful season with the Dragons, culminating in him being awarded Players Player of the Season for 2010/11. However, he was left feeling frustrated after missing out on a place in the RBS Six Nations squad. “Not being chosen for the Welsh Six Nations squad has played a part in my decision to move abroad but I also feel that experience in a different league will make me a better player.”
