Rees signs for the Dragons

Richie Rees has agreed to join Newport-Gwent Dragons from Edinburgh on a two year deal at the end of the current season. Richie, 30, has been capped nine times for Wales and left Cardiff Blues at the end of last season but is delighted to be signing for the Dragons.
He said “I’d like to thank the coaches, staff and fans of Edinburgh Rugby for their support this season
“I’ve made some great friends here and there’s a lot of talent who have the potential to be top class, and I’d like to I wish them all the best in the years to come.
“I remain totally committed to the club for the remainder of my contract and look forward to returning to Wales and joining up with my new club mates in a very ambitious Dragons side.”

Richie Rees joins Edinburgh

Richie Rees has agreed a deal to join Edinburgh at the end of the current season. Rees, who joined Cardiff Blues from London Irish in 2007, has made 97 appearances scoring five tries. He was first capped for Wales against England in 2010 and went onto score his first international try against Australia that same year. During his time at the Blues he won the Anglo-Welsh Cup in 2009 and the European Challenge Cup in 2010.

Rees said “Edinburgh are a team that really excites me. Their style of play was a big factor in me wanting to sign. It really suits how I approach the game, and I think I can bring something to an already very talented squad that is being boosted by some quality players.”
